Southampton form and fixture data: five picks, three winners, and why West Ham away is off our board
Southampton form and fixture data for 2026/27: five released picks since April, three winners, both losers home draws. Unbeaten at home, one away win, and West Ham away scores 5.4. 2 in 3 of our picks win (67%), and tonight's free leg is Huddersfield.
Southampton at home have been one of the strongest legs our model has found in the Championship this season, and they also cost us Saturday's acca. We've released 5 picks on Southampton games since April, every one backing Southampton, and 3 of them won. Across every released pick, 2 in 3 of our picks win (67%), and every one of them went out before kick-off. If you want the legs before the games rather than the write-up after, it's 14 days free, no card: see the board.

The five released picks
The score is out of 10, the price is the price at release, and the win chance is the goals model's number for Southampton. The April picks came from the older eight-factor model, which didn't produce a win chance.
| Date | Fixture | Score | Win chance | Price | Result | Outcome |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 14th April 2026 | Southampton v Blackburn | 7.4 | Not recorded | 1.57 | 3-0 | Won |
| 18th April 2026 | Swansea v Southampton | 7.1 | Not recorded | 1.85 | 1-2 | Won |
| 21st April 2026 | Southampton v Bristol City | 7.1 | Not recorded | 1.42 | 2-2 | Lost |
| 11th October 2026 | Southampton v Portsmouth | 7.5 | 70% | 1.62 | 1-0 | Won |
| 17th October 2026 | Southampton v Bolton | 7.4 | 74% | 1.52 | 0-0 | Lost |
£10 on each as a single staked £50 and returned £50.40. That's flat, and I'd rather tell you that than dress it up. Both losers were home draws, and that's the pattern to know about Southampton: when they don't win at St Mary's, they draw.
Southampton this season
The model has scored 11 Southampton fixtures in the Championship, from 16th August to 17th October 2026. They won 6, drew 3 and lost 2, scoring 21 and conceding 10.
The split is the story. At home they've played 6, won 5 and drawn 1: Stoke 3-1, Millwall 5-1, Swansea 3-1, Bristol City 4-1, Portsmouth 1-0, then Bolton 0-0. Away they've played 5 and won 1: a 2-1 defeat at Watford, draws at Birmingham and Lincoln, a 2-1 defeat at Wrexham and a 1-0 win at Norwich on 14th October.
That's why every Southampton pick this season has been a home game. The team strength rating had them at 1,597 against Portsmouth's 1,471, and 1,611 against Bolton's 1,491. A gap that size at home is what puts a side in the low 70s on win chance, and both games scored over 7.0.
The Bolton draw
Bolton was the leg with the highest win chance in Saturday's 4-fold at 74%, and it's the one that sank it. Salford, Stockport and Wrexham all won, so the acca went 3 from 4.
The warning sign was there in the evidence. Southampton were averaging 4.6 shots on target a game going into it, against Bolton's 5.4. They'd won five from five at home without out-shooting people, and a side doing that can have an afternoon where nothing goes in. The rating still had them clear, and I'd back the same setup again.
The one we didn't release
Norwich v Southampton on Wednesday 14th October scored 4.4 for Norwich, well under the 7.0 line, so it stayed off the board. Southampton won 1-0. We don't count it either way, because a pick nobody could see isn't a pick. It's in the panel above with every other withheld fixture.
West Ham away on Saturday
Southampton go to West Ham on Saturday 24th October at 3pm. West Ham are 2nd and Southampton 7th, and the model scored it 5.4 for West Ham. The interesting bit is that the rating has Southampton slightly the stronger side, 1,606 against 1,578, and it's home advantage that tips the goals model to West Ham. A 5.4 is a long way short of 7.0, so it won't be on the board and it won't be in an acca of ours.
Southampton at home is a different matter. When they're next at St Mary's against a side lower down the table, expect the model to have a view.
Tonight's 4-fold
The next 4-fold is tonight, Tuesday 20th October. It has four legs, all kicking off at 7:45pm, and on our numbers it lands about 1 in 7 (14%). Here's the free leg.
Huddersfield v Peterborough, tonight 7:45pm, League One. Back Huddersfield: 60% win chance, 7.5 out of 10, 1.56 at release. Third against nineteenth, Huddersfield have won four of the last five meetings, and their expected goals average of 2.39 sits well clear of Peterborough's 1.70.
The other three legs are for members. Saturday 24th October's board has started too, with two picks so far, and more legs will join it once tonight's numbers are final.
The 4-fold record
We started logging the Best 4-fold on 10th October. 4-folds: 0 landed from 2, and both went 3 from 4. In testing (2021 to 2026) the top four on a Saturday landed on about 1 Saturday in 5 (21 to 24%), so two near misses is an ordinary start. Each leg you add roughly halves your chance, which is why we stop at four and leave out the early kick-offs. Every pick and every result is on /results, losers included.
