Question 1

What is Lower League Analyst?

Accepted Answer

Lower League Analyst is a football analytics tool that runs every fixture across the Championship, League One, League Two, and the National League through a team strength rating built from every league result since 2024. It produces a conviction score out of 10 for each match and shows the eight factors behind it as the evidence. Think of it as a faster, more rigorous way to make sense of the weekend's fixtures.

Question 2

Which leagues do you cover?

Accepted Answer

Four English leagues: the Championship, League One, League Two, and the National League. We don't cover the Premier League, Scottish football, or non-league below the National League.

Question 3

Why don't you cover the Premier League?

Accepted Answer

The Premier League is the most analysed competition on the planet. Every data company in the world is covering those twenty teams, the market is saturated, and there's very little edge left for an independent tool. Lower leagues are massively under-analysed by comparison, and that's where this work is genuinely useful.

Question 4

Is this a tipping service?

Accepted Answer

No. Lower League Analyst is a data analytics tool. We don't take tips, we don't accept anything on your behalf, and we're not regulated as a gambling operator because we don't need to be. What you do with the analysis is entirely your decision.

Question 5

What is a conviction score?

Accepted Answer

A conviction score is a number from 0 to 10, rounded to one decimal place, that comes from our team strength rating: the backed side's share of the win chance between the two clubs, home edge included, built from every league result since 2024. Eight factors are shown alongside it as the evidence: league position, form, home and away record, head-to-head, goals data, shots and xG, injuries, and fixture difficulty. They do not move the score. Where a factor has no reliable evidence behind it, we leave it out and say so on the breakdown rather than guessing. A conviction score is not a probability of winning.

Question 6

What's the difference between high and low conviction?

Accepted Answer

Every fixture gets a team strength rating, built from every league result since 2024, and the eight factors are shown as the evidence. A pick is released at 10:00 on the first morning its score is final, once both teams have played their last league game before it. Anything at 7.0 or higher is released. No exceptions after the fact. Anything below 7.0 stays unpublished. The higher the score, the bigger the gap in team strength between the two sides, home edge included. A 9 or 10 is rare.

Question 7

Which 8 factors do you show?

Accepted Answer

League position, recent form, home and away record (broken down by opponent quality), head-to-head history, goals scored, conceded and clean sheets, shots and xG, injuries and suspensions, and fixture difficulty. From 6 October 2026 they are shown on every pick as the evidence, agreeing or disagreeing with it; the score itself comes from our team strength rating.

Question 8

Where does your data come from?

Accepted Answer

Live football data from API-Football, covering the Championship, League One, League Two, and the National League. The data refreshes daily.

Question 9

How often are picks updated?

Accepted Answer

The fixture list and analysis update daily. A fixture is scored once both clubs have six league matches behind them that season. Each pick is published at 10:00 UK time on the first morning its score is final, once both teams have played their last league game before it, and locked from that point. That is often days before kick-off, so you can plan accumulators early.

Question 10

Why don't you score fixtures from the opening weekend?

Accepted Answer

Because a conviction score built on last season's data would be a guess wearing a number. Early in a season the table and form say little, and the evidence we show needs current-season games to mean anything. That takes a handful of games, so a fixture is only scored once both clubs have six league matches behind them. We would rather show you nothing than show you something we don't believe.

Question 11

What is "Pick For Me"?

Accepted Answer

Pick For Me is a feature that builds a curated selection from that week's highest-conviction picks, so you don't have to scroll through every fixture to find the strongest calls. It's there to save you time.

Question 12

Can I see past performance?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every pick is tracked and every result is recorded. You can see the full running record on the Insights page at any time. We started tracking from 14 April 2026, and that's the start point for any performance data you'll see.

Question 13

Do you guarantee winners?

Accepted Answer

No, and we never will. Football is unpredictable, and anyone promising guaranteed winners is either lying or selling you something you shouldn't buy. What we offer is a rigorous, transparent analysis tool with the workings shown. The rest is up to you.

Question 14

What happens when the model has a bad week?

Accepted Answer

It goes in the record like everything else. We don't delete bad weeks, hide losing runs, or quietly forget about calls that didn't land. The whole point of building this in the open is so you can judge it on the evidence.

Question 15

How much does it cost?

Accepted Answer

£12 per month, or £99 per year (saving 31%). There's a 14-day free trial with no card required up front, so you can see exactly what you're getting before you commit to anything.

Question 16

Is there a free trial?

Accepted Answer

Yes, 14 days, no card required. You'll get full access to every feature for the trial period. If you don't want to continue, you don't have to do anything; the trial just ends.

Question 17

How do I cancel?

Accepted Answer

See lowerleagueanalyst.co.uk/faqs for the full answer.

Question 18

Do you offer refunds?

Accepted Answer

If you've been charged and something's gone wrong, get in touch and we'll do the right thing. The 14-day free trial is designed to make sure no one pays for something that isn't right for them in the first place.

Question 19

Who's behind Lower League Analyst?

Accepted Answer

Lower League Analyst is built and operated by Maitland Agency Limited, a digital agency based in Darlington. It sits within the Maitland SaaS incubator alongside our other data products.

Question 20

Why was the brand renamed from OddsBrain?

Accepted Answer

The original name was created at a time when the language landscape on social platforms was different. Several major platforms now block accounts and ads with anything resembling gambling-adjacent language in the brand name itself, regardless of what the actual product does. Lower League Analyst describes the tool more accurately and removes a barrier that was getting in the way of straightforward marketing.

Question 21

Who do I talk to about media or partnerships?

Accepted Answer

See lowerleagueanalyst.co.uk/faqs for the full answer.
